What a week! 14/05/2011
 
Whew, what a busy but wonderful week we have all had. Andy and Mei welcomed Vincent to the world, we prepared for the Exhibition, we presented the Exhibition and then we packed it all away. It has been a hugely successful week of students sharing their learning with the whole school community. Well done Grade 5's - you should be very proud of yourselves. We had visitors online from a range of different schools, online visitors from Japan and India, K3 students through to Grade 11 students, prospective parents, teachers and of course Grade 5 parents. Thankyou so much for all of the support you have offered over the last 8 weeks and for coming to see all of the hard work that has been done. Next week we are joining the Grade Four classes in a Hunger Banquet.  On Wednesday, May 18, students will participate in the Oxfam Hunger Banquet that demonstrates inequalities in distribution of resources. Students are asked to please bring a $40 donation for Oxfam before Wednesday.

Please make sure you read all of the required reading for Puberty Blues on Monday. Also please return MS Language Choice forms on Monday as well.

Today I am celebrating the birth of my son. Vincent Andrew Birch was born at the Queen Mary hospital at 12:45 p.m. and weighed in at an impressive 4kg. Mum and baby are both doing well.

Thursday - Exhibition Open Evening
Thursday and Friday - The Exhibition 12th and 13th

Reminder - Students need to bring in 40 HKD for the disco.

The bird group met up with our head of school Mr. Dare to discuss possible placement of the bird boxes they have built.  Visit their presentation next week to  find out where the boxes will be placed.

Julian and Tommy sit in the latest Tesla electric car. They were even lucky enough to be driven around in it. Thanks to Mr. Dean for helping organising the visit!

  • Dear Parents and Mentors,
  • The Exhibition is fast approaching. This week students are busy taking action or finalising their action. On Thursday we will begin focusing our attention on creating the displays for the following weeks presentations and some students will still be working on their action during this time too! Our homework for the next two weeks is focused on the Exhibition along with lots of class time.
  • Next Wednesday we will be setting up the MPR and preparing for our first visitors on Thursday. The Exhibition will be open Thursday and Friday with our 'official' launch taking place on Thursday evening.

I just wanted to wish you all a happy Spring Break and a Happy Easter too!  It is well deserved and I hope it is restful! It has been a busy term but so much has been achieved. Andy and I are testing out the Weebly as well as they have just upgraded it so I now have access.

Rest up, have fun and I look forward to hearing about it once we return to school
