Hi,
Here are my answers:

1. It is called the Aurora Australis

2. It is roughly 32,000 years old

3. Galileo thought it was caused by sunlight reflecting off of earths atmosphere but it is actually caused by the solar winds from the sun that slam on the Earths protective magnetic sphere, the energy causes the magnetic tail to change shape, all the particles trapped in it interact with the Earths atmosphere causing the auroras.

The oldest picture of the lights is about 3200 years old.
Galileo thought that the lights were caused by sun light reflecting off of earths atmosphear.
