Sports Day Many thanks to those parents who came and supported us at the HKA sports day on Friday. It was a very tiring but fun filled and rewarding day. The students showed great spirit and should be congratulated for their positive attitudes through the whole day. An animoto with photos will be up on the blog very soon. For those of you who saw my spectacular long jump....but not so successful landing, you'll be pleased to know that apart from my bruised pride, I only have a sprained ankle and twisted knee which should be back to working order in a couple of weeks. How many people do you think you would need in a room for a 50% chance that any two people would share the same birthday. St. John's Cathedral Visit 10/02/2011
Grade 5 visited St. John's Cathedral in Central today. We are looking at using different religions to help us think about how people convey their beliefs and values. We were looking for examples of some of the following; golden rules, signs and symbols, buildings / architecture, religious books, leaders / figureheads, prayers / mantras, divine beings / people, an ultimate reality, holy places and ceremonies / rituals. Well done to the students who more than once were complimented on as being very respectful by toursits and visitors to the cathedral. Students will be writing a reflection on their blogs about the experience. Science Museum Field Trip 25/01/2011
Yesterday grade 5 travelled to the Hong Kong Science Museum to see a special Leonardo da Vinci exhibition. Our current unit is Where We Are In Place and Time and we have been researching inventions that are important to us today. Leonardo da Vinci was an incredible inventor and it was great to see many of of his inventions close up and realise how many amazing ideas he had. Students will be finding out more and testing their knowledge at Brainpop. | AuthorAndy Birch - Grade 5AB Homeroom teacher Blogging ideas, what can we blog about? Add your thoughts here
