The School Newspaper - Andrew 01/27/2010

Some time ago my school had what I think is our first school news paper called the "Compass". I read all the articles yesterday they were very interesting. In there was one about the HKA boys soccer team that was wrote by Aaron Francis and Murray Goebel. Winning a soccer tournament called ACIMAS, the soccer tournament was held in Guan Zhou which they won with only conceding three goals and scoring 21! Then the second article was about Point Of Information by Jake Riordan and Dylan Sparks which was very interesting again. The second last one was about Artists In Residence by Michelle Geffner and Emma Seay. What they said about it was what happens and what it was like compared to last year and who came and participated. The last article was about two girls which have passion and have fun dancing which are Elsa Helmer and Shannon King. This was written by Meagan Scantlebury. She wrote about what type of dancers they are and what type of dancing they like.

The Future Rock School - Paul 01/27/2010

Yesterday I was a participant of a concert called the future rock school and I was the drummer for a drum solo and a song called Seven Nation Army By White Stripes. The first were 2 little girls singing 3 song of Michael Jackson's Tribute. Then there was a song called freak by silverchair. Then there was No woman no cry by Bob Marley that song was played by my teacher and two 10 year old brother and sister. Then it was my turn and I was stressed to play because I was the only kid that was not from The French School. But as the song played I got more and more confident. Then I finished the song and there claps and smiles ad laughs and people who were drinking and it was really fun.

Then There was a group of Chinese people. They played like 5 songs then It was time for the five drummers including the drummer from the Chinese group and we all did solos and they were really good. The next song was called song 2 By blur there was my friend and he is 8 years old and he played drums and he is good for his age. There was a little girl who sang for this song and this song is very crazy. Then there was my guitarist friend who played should I stay or should i go by The clash and that was a fun song to listen to. The last 3 songs were french songs and they were sang by adults and they were fun to hear. Then it was over and I was really tired and we went back home.

Math Class - Thomas 01/25/2010

In math class we have been working on our unit assessment. The problem I found to be the hardest was an open response question, you had to find a fraction for each box and all of them had to add up to one. Then you had to write down how you got the fraction for part F which wasn't that hard, then you had to answer a question that asked you to list a combination of parts that make up 2/3 of the whole. I found this hard because I'm not good with fractions and equivalent fractions.

Trip To Chin Lin Nunnery - Omer 01/17/2010

Today we went to the Chin Lin Nunnery which is a Buddhism temple. First we took a bus from school to the temple (it took 45 minuets to get there). After we got of the bus we had snack. Then we saw an orange bridge which was connected to a solid gold building. After a while of drawing on our I believe book we split to our tent groups because the people told us that we are a big group and that we make too much noise. Everything around there was with trees and special rocks. After that we looked around a souvenir shop that had very expensive praises. Then we went to an building that had chinese architecture. Then we saw some fish in a lake. After that we continued to see the main place where all the Buddhas were. There were lots of big and small Buddhas and each place there had fruits that were given to the Buddhas. After that all the groups met together and we took the bus to school.

Hanukkah - By Omer 12/09/2009

In a few days it's Hanukkah!!! Because I am Jewish we don't celebrate Christmas we celebrate Hanukkah. Hanukkah has 8 days. Each day we put a candle in the Menorah. In Hanukah the kids get either some presents or some money. But because I am flying to New Zealand (YAHH!!!) I would celebrate some of Hanukkah in Hong Kong and some of it in New Zealand.

My Birthday and Party - By Astrid 12/06/2009

Yesterday (5th december 2009) It was my birthday. Not just that, It was also my party! I did a sleep-over for my birthday party. I had so much fun and lots of presents! When I woke up in the morning, my dad called from Belgium and wished me a happy birthday. Then I knew it was time to get up and start my birthday! Then I played Guitar Hero and then the wii and then I came into the kitchen to help with making the cookies but I couldn't do that because Claudia (my sister) and my mom were making the cake and I wasn't allowed to see it. So I just cleaned up my room for the party.

That took a while but now my room is really clean! Then we all sat down and opened my family presents. Maite came while doing that, she was a little early but I didn't care. We just kept going. Then Dorothy came in and right after that sidhonie came. I had to put everyone's stuff up stairs and then Clio came in. Alice joined us too right when Clio came. Leilanie was supposed to come but then she was a little sick so she couldn't come. I finished my presents and opened theirs too. We sat down and played some games like Twister. And then we ate dinner and the cake. It was good! The cake kind of failed so we had to do it again but we used the same cake, And it looked like a pile of poo. But it was really good! Then we made our beds and un-packed our stuff. We watched the movie I got from Maite, Band Slam. It was a good movie! We talked after that and fell asleep at 11:00 then I woke up at 4:00 again and got cold and had no space so I slept in my bed upsatirs and came back down in the morning. We watched Land Of The Lost after that. I have seen that movie 3 times now and I'm still not bored of it! We packed up and brushed our teeth.

Then Dorothy's mom came up and she had to leave. Olivia was with Alice. Clio was next. She had to go down so I had to bring her down waiting for her helper and we almost lost her balloon! Then I went back up and Sidhonie was ready to leave with Dr.Andy and Maite. Soon everyone was gone and I played wii again and listened to some music. Then I wrote this article about my b-day and my party. And now you are reading it! But the people that didn't get to come were: Erin, Abby and Leilanie.
